The Greenbank Folk Music Society was founded in 1993 by George Rizsanyi and Mogens Galberg. Both Greenbank residents at the time, they brought their love of live music and desire to support touring musicians to the lovely Centennial Hall in this small village. While George’s life took him to Nova Scotia the following year, Mogens continued on.

Working together with many dedicated volunteers over the years, Mogens was the artistic director and heartbeat of the Society until his passing in 2020.

His vision created a community of true music lovers and we are grateful to honour his legacy by keeping the music alive in Greenbank.
